A Few of My Favorite Things...

My family brings me much joy. As I was looking through my pictures I couldn't help but smile at the cute faces of my grandchildren as we've been able to enjoy them over the past months. And since I haven't been a regular blogger, I have dug into the archives...pulling out pictures from all the way back to June of 2007 when this family picture was taken (before Madi, Austin and Tyler came along), October 2008 when we traveled to Washington, DC to spend time with Madi, then a few from Christmas time when Sydney, Keegan, Evan and Austin were visiting with Brittany, Kaitlyn, Eric and Tyler. Happy, joyful memories.. I've enjoyed every minute of the trip "down memory lane"...hope you will, too.
Corinne and Morgan's wedding day.

This one was taken in December 2007 after Corinne and Morgan's wedding.

This is the most recent "grandchildren picture", but sadly, we're missing Madi. It was taken in December 2008.

So here is our little Madilyn with Boppi in Maryland, October 2008.

FAMILY TOGETHER - ONE of my favorite things.

I think we're due for a new family picture!!

Las Vegas Getaway

Me at the Bellagio Conservatory

Last week I had the fun opportunity to travel with Lindsay, Shaun and 4 month old, baby Tyler to Las Vegas. Shaun had a Teva conference @ the Wynn, and I got to be the "granny nanny" for Tyler!! We had lots of fun together. Rhonda came over to hang out on Friday and stayed over until Saturday afternoon, and we got to visit with Seth and Stephanie and see some of the sites.

We are full of gratitude for our many blessings this holiday season. Although our family group on Thanksgiving Day was small...just the 3 of us and Jocelyn's friend, Laura, we had a wonderful and relaxing day. We had all of our traditional foods and family favorites and a deliciously, moist, little 14 lb. turkey! Unfortunately, no pictures of the bounteous spread or the cute resin turkey centerpiece that Laura brought for us! After dinner Jocelyn, Allen and I went to see the newest James Bond Movie, Quantum of Solace. The movie was great, but we really enjoyed seeing a few of Corinne and Morgan's wedding pictures on the big screen as part of the advertising for Megan Hook Photography!

We were pleased that all of our other children and their families were enjoying happy celebrations with their in-laws this year.

Joc and I decided to wake up early on Friday morning for a Black Friday shopping adventure!! We had no interest in fighting crowds so chose to shop at the new Loehmann's in Newbury Park. We arrived at about 6:30 am and found some great deals. Then we headed for the newly, updated Thousand Oaks Mall. The crowds didn't pick up until close to noon when we were heading home! What a fun experience.

We've started decorating for Christmas and are getting excited for the holiday festivities.

Jocelyn has been pretty focused on writing her essays and getting her college application sent off. She's applying to BYU- Provo and BYU - Idaho.

Sunday, 30 November 2008, was Tyler Allen Terry's blessing day. We left home at about 6:30 am and drove to Lindsay and Shaun's. Lindsay had a yummy breakfast of banana and pumpkin breads, fruit and juices all set out for us. Shaun's parents and brother, Nick, were there and other family members arrived later. After church we came home for a delicious meal of minestrone soup and chicken taco soup with lots of toppings, homemade rolls, salad and pumpkin rolls and lemon cake for dessert. Lindsay went all out, and everything looked beautiful. We played some games and visited and had a great evening. We always enjoy special occasions when the Terry and Jenkins families can get together.
